CHILLWIND DEPOT
We have now been in the Inverness Depot for nearly a year. Since moving into our new premises we have been refining how we use the space, not only in the warehouse but in the adjoining office too; we have been joined by our Inverness-based contracts manager Donald Macdonald and our latest recruit Gordon Seaton who has taken on the position of Engineering Manager. Richard Tarves regularly graces us with his presence as do members of the Operations team. All field operations start and finish at the depot, so Monday mornings are a busy period of vehicle loading and caffeine-fuelled job briefings/debriefings. We have had a VOIP phone system installed that keeps the communications channels open between the depot and all of our Glenelg colleagues.
The central location of the Depot has really paid off with improved deliveries and access to suppliers and equipment maintenance. The space has recently come up trumps in enabling us to handle a large order of 80m masts that were required to be painted and shipped to South Africa. We have also been able to take advantage of our secure yard and have stocked it with new and decommissioned mast to the benefit of our clients.
